Over the May bank holiday weekend I opened my home as an exhibition space to showcase my work as part of the very first 'Saddleworth Art Trail'
'A total of 21 – 15 artists and six groups – got together to open up for people over the bank holiday weekend. The trail included paintings, textiles, ceramics, printmaking, an interactive installation, photography and even a needle felting workshop.'
Not only was this the first event of its kind in Saddleworth but also the first time for me to exhibit my artwork, anywhere!
We had no way of knowing if any visitors would turn up or how it would be received at all but I am delighted to say, it was a big success. With 30 people coming to have a look at my work over the two days it was more than I could have hoped for. Everyone had such kind words to say and such amazing positive feedback making all the hard work very much worth while.
I even made a few sales, two paintings, two prints and seven greetings cards.
Well... my 'Artists Journey' has well and truly begun. I will definitely be taking part in the 'Saddleworth Art Trail 2025' and have many Ideas where to go from here so watch this space!
Here are some of the comments visitors left in my book during the weekend:
'I love the textures, very inspiring'
'Love the clouds, etherial and angelic! The paintings really draw you in'
'Lovely colour ways, building up texture'
'I love all your art, keep producing and if you ever run workshops please get in touch'
